Hello, friends! Today I’d like to tell you about Ukrainian traditional soup – borshch.
Nobody doubts, if you visit Ukraine, you have to try borshch! Actually, you can order it in any cafe or bar, but it’s better to try home-made one.
Also, you can cook it by yourself and the recipe is simple. The ingredients are:
- 1 kg of pork
- 1 carrot
- 3-4 potatoes
- a cup of beans
- 1 beet
- 1 onion
- salt, pepper, and other spices
And of course, you need a pan of water (4-5 l). First, start to boil it and prepare meat, you should cut it into small pieces. Put the meat into the pan. Then add some salt and pepper. Wait for an hour, the pieces of pork have to be soft. Wait till your future borshch in boiling and add beans and make the fire lower. Wait for some minutes and put cut onion and carrot. Cut the beet into short strips and add them to your borshch. Mix everything well and the water will get the red colour. It’s almost ready! Chop the potatoes into big cubes and wait for 10 min., now put them into the pan and wait for 15 min.
Your borshch is ready and you’re awesome! Your ancestors can be proud of you!
